6 Tips For A Memorable Honeymoon In Paris

Posted on

Any trip to the City of Lights is special, but a honeymoon in Paris is a once in a lifetime experience that you and your sweetheart will never forget. In order to make the most of your honeymoon and make sure the logistics go smoothly, it's important to plan ahead and lock down some details ahead of time. Here are six tips for ensuring your honeymoon in Paris is romantic and memorable:

Book a Business Class Flight

Your honeymoon is the time to splurge a little and ensure that you and your betrothed have a comfortable plane ride to Paris. Business class flights to Paris have many of the benefits of First Class, but are more inexpensive. Instead of spending several hours crammed into a coach seat, you can stretch your legs, enjoy complimentary cocktails and amenities, relax together, sleep comfortably, and arrive in Paris feeling refreshed instead of stressed out.

Consider Renting an Apartment

Instead of booking a hotel room, consider renting an entire apartment via a site like Airbnb. You and your beloved can start off your married life like a Parisian couple, pretending that you live in one of the most romantic cities in the world. Many Parisian apartments feature gorgeous views of the city (perhaps even of the Eiffel tower) and balconies. You can make breakfast together in your rental's kitchen before setting out on a day of sightseeing, and end your day with a glass of champagne on your balcony.

Book a Dinner Cruise on the Seine

Many tour companies in Paris offer boat rides along the Seine. By taking a dinner cruise, you will get to catch a gorgeous sunset and then see the city's famous lights begin to sparkle from the comfort of your dinner table on a boat. Many dinner cruises on the Seine offer multi-course meals and live music, for a truly memorable date with your new spouse. You can choose between glass boats that don't sacrifice the views but keep you protected from potentially cold night air, or open-air boats if you'd rather feel the breeze on your skin.

Take a Photo in Front of "Le Mur des Je T'aime"

Le Mur des Je T'aime, or the "I Love You Wall" is a large wall mural painted with the words "I love you" in hundreds of languages. What better place to pose for a sweet photo with your new husband or wife than a monument and art piece entirely dedicated to love? Even better, since the wall is located in a lovely park (the Place des Abbesses in Montmartre), this is a great spot to bring a picnic lunch. Fulfill a Parisian fantasy by stopping by a local bakery and boulangerie for a baguette and tasty toppings and having lunch near the wall.

Splurge on Dinner at La Tour D'Argent

La Tour D'Argent is one of the oldest restaurants in Paris, known for excellent old school French fare, elegant ambience, a vast wine cellar, and some of the best views of Notre Dame and the River Seine. This is definitely a great spot for getting dressed up and having a long, romantic meal. La Tour D'Argent is known for its duck and in fact the restaurant even has its own duck farm.

Head to the 56th Floor of the Montparnasse Tower

This famous skyscraper has the best views of Paris. While most of the building is occupied by offices, the 56th floor is open to the public and has a great viewing deck as well as an on-site restaurant. The views are especially beautiful at sunset, making it a romantic place to spend your last evening in Paris.

By following these tips, you will be sure to have a beautiful and memorable Parisian honeymoon.
